The Collegium House of the German Literature Archive is a living and meeting place for researchers, authors, scholarship holders and seminar participants. Guests at the Collegium House have the chance to work with their own materials outside of the opening hours of the archive. The minimum stay is two nights.
The premises encompass thirty apartments, three open meeting areas on each floor, a foyer on the ground floor, two common rooms, an office with a reception room and a conference room, a laundry room and a room for playing table tennis. The Collegium House is situated in an open landscape with a beautiful view of the apartments and of the rooftop terrace.
Each of the apartments, which face south and are approximately thirty square meters large, offers space for one or two people, is furnished with a shower, a toilet, cooking facilities, a telephone and a writing desk. For families, two or three apartments can be consolidated into living units (three living units with two apartments, two living units with three apartments). Two of the apartments are handicap accessible. Smoking is not permitted inside the Collegium House.
The operation of the Collegium House is completely financed by rent and usage fees. Reasonable rent prices are maintained in that the guests provide largely for themselves. Dishware, bedding, towels, kitchen appliances and a washing machine and dryer are available.
Renovations of the Collegium House will begin in March 2016 and are expected to continue until March 2017. Please consider that not all apartments will be available during this time and that there may be noise between 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
