Digitalization
The unit Photographic Services (Department: Development) delivers analog and digital master copies for reproduction of all kinds of objects from all departments. Its responsibilities include photographic documentation of events, the digitalization of highly sensitive archival documents (digital safeguarding of holdings), the delivery of high-quality master texts for printing to external clients and the handling of related questions of copyright and business. The unit has high quality technical equipment at its disposal for nearly every task in the field of photographic reproduction and digitalization.
Service
In Photographic Services, reproductions (scans, photographs, printouts) of archive holdings from all collections can be ordered in quality ready for print. For this purpose, the DLA assesses the costs of production and, in the case of a subsequent publication, royalties. Further information can be found in the current schedule of fees.
Permission for the publication of archival materials from the holdings of the DLA strictly requires a request in writing. If objects are still protected by copyright or for loaned or deposited holdings, additional permissions from the author/artist/photographer, the owner or their legal successor must be obtained.
