Open access to the DLA Marbach’s data based on research project-related questions

The data service offers open access to the DLA Marbach’s data on the basis of research project-related queries. The open, well-documented interface is designed to enable users to export data in various formats, explore it and integrate it into their own environments using custom queries.
- Collection focus: modern German-language literature and literary studies since the Enlightenment
- Media diversity: literary estates, manuscripts, correspondence, printed works, audiovisual media, images & objects, publishers’ archives, thematic collections
- Combining analogue and digital holdings (born-digital materials and digitised items)
- Density of the (unique) collection (from 1850 onwards)
- Depth of cataloguing, consistent use of standardised data for persons, institutions and works
- High degree of interlinking
- The focus is on authors, their works and their publishers.
The results can be downloaded via an open interface (CC0 licence) in various data formats (initially JSON, RIS, MODS, DC).
The development was based on the corpus of the source catalogue of the exile libraries of Alfred Döblin and Siegfried Kracauer. The project was funded as a collaborative project via Text+ as part of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) (Further information on the project).
