Collection criteria and procedures

  • Modern German literature (the source must contain primary sources or stand in relation to this area of collection)
  • Born digitals
  • Publicly accessible
  • Reference and reception (awards, academic literature, citations, link lists, already printed publications in the DLA’s collection, present in other archives, blogrolls in other blogs)
  • Representative for specific literary technical forms and moments in time
  • Sources may not be pure advertisements but must at least contain sneak peeks, extracts, or tables of contents.
  • When in doubt, a source will be included in the archive.

The archived sources are made accessible through a specialised archival system. The goal is to keep the authenticity and integrity of the source (the ›look and feel‹) intact when transferring it into the archive. Quality control takes place through manual checks of the websites, including the authors and owners of the respective rights in the process. In the case of sources with no planned conclusion, the frequency of archiving is dependent on the publishing activity: mirrors are created at least once, at most thrice a year. Sources which show no further activity are no longer mirrored.
