Seminarreihe ›Kafkas Echo‹: Adapting Kafka, Part 2 – Praxis: Website, Sample Entries, Pedagogy

Adapting Kafka, a collaborative digital project by Carsten Strathausen (University of Missouri) and Verena Kick (Georgetown University), focuses on Franz Kafka’s novel The Trial (1925). 

In the last presentation, we provided an overview of the project’s development and showcased the structure of the current prototype. This time, our presentation will take on the form of a workshop. Registered participants will receive access to the current prototype site, and we invite attendees to share their impressions and feedback on using the site. There will also be a sample entry of a scholarly contribution to the project, showcasing our platform's features. 

During the workshop, we will offer a very brief project overview, report on our collaboration with research assistants and DH librarians, and share our experiences in funding the project and in securing a publishing contract. The second half of the workshop is dedicated to the participants engaging with our site and providing their feedback.

Begleitend zur Ausstellung ›Kafkas Echo‹ im Literaturmuseum der Moderne lädt die gleichnamige Seminarreihe Dozentinnen und Dozenten aus aller Welt ein, sich mit der Entstehung, Entwicklung und Rezeption des Weltautors Kafka und seines Werkes auseinanderzusetzen.

›Kafkas Echo‹ wird gefördert von der Beauftragten der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.

Das Begleitprogramm (Social Media, Seminarreihe und Vermittlungsprogramm) wird gefördert durch das Auswärtige Amt.
